FAQ

  • Which leagues are available?
There are currently 11 leagues available: Dutch Eredivisie English Championship English League One English League Two English Premier League French Ligue 1 German Bundesliga Italian Serie A Portuguese Primeira Liga Scottish Premiership Spanish La Liga This list is subject to change – subscribe for updates to hear about the latest League Frame news.
  • What information is shown for each league?
League Frame shows you the complete league table for your selected league, together with recent results and upcoming fixtures/latest scores. For a 20-team league (e.g. English Premier League), the 10 most recent results and the next 10 fixtures are also shown. Smaller leagues will have room for more results/fixtures, while larger leagues will have fewer.
  • How can I select different leagues?
When you setup your League Frame (using the ‘Setup’ button at the top of this website), you can select up to 3 leagues to assign to your League Frame. You can then press the button on the back of your League Frame to cycle through your selected leagues. Each press of the button moves to the next league, and you can press the button multiple times to jump leagues (e.g. press twice to skip a league). After your button press/presses, it will take around 1 to 2 minutes for the display to be refreshed with your selected league.
  • How often is the data refreshed?
Your League Frame is updated whenever there is new information to show. You can set the time-interval at which updates are checked for within your device settings (using the ‘Setup’ button at the top of this page).
  • How do latest scores work?
If there are live games in-play, the ‘Fixtures’ section is changed to ‘Latest Scores’ where these scores are displayed. They will be updated approximately every 5 minutes (or at longer intervals if changed in your device settings) and will be time-delayed by a few minutes due to the screen refresh process.
  • What is electronic paper?
League Frame uses a 3-colour (red, black, and white) electronic paper display, which is similar to those used in e-readers such as Kindles. It has a high contrast and feels more like looking at a piece of paper than a traditional tablet screen. The screen doesn’t give out any light of its own, but instead it reflects the ambient light around it (like paper). This means that it doesn’t glow all night or light up your room! The display only consumes power when it is being updated, and it keeps showing the information even after power is disconnected (although we don’t recommend this for more than a few hours). The display refresh process involves the screen flashing several times, and it takes up to 30 seconds to fully update.
  • How is League Frame powered?
League frame is powered by a micro-USB cable (supplied) that you can plug in to an old mobile phone charger or computer USB socket. League Frame needs to remain connected to power at all times. There is no battery in League Frame, but because of the electronic paper technology it keeps showing the information even after power is disconnected (although we don’t recommend this for more than a few hours).
  • What material is used for the casing?
League Frame’s casing is a custom 2-piece design produced by fused deposition modelling using plastic. This is not a mass-production process, so every casing is unique. This does mean that there will be minor imperfections and rough edges on the casing.
  • Where is League Frame manufactured?
Every League Frame is hand assembled in England, where it was also coded and designed. We source components from local suppliers wherever possible. Football data is provided by the Football-Data.org API.
  • What is included in the box?
The box contents are a League Frame, a 2 m flat black Micro-USB to USB-A cable, and a Quick Start Guide. A power adapter is not supplied but you can use an old mobile phone charger or a computer USB socket. Your purchase includes FREE league data for the lifetime of your League Frame.

  • The display flashes and flickers before updating my league
The display flashes for up to 30 seconds each time it refreshes. This is perfectly normal and it ensures the clearest display of your league information. Here is an example of the screen refresh, although it may be slightly different for your device.
  • I can’t get my League Frame to connect to my Wi-Fi network
Keep your League Frame close to your phone/computer throughout the setup process. Please check that your network name and password are entered exactly as they appear on your router information. These details are case sensitive. League Frame will only connect to password protected 2.4 GHz networks, and it will not connect to 5 GHz networks. League Frame cannot be used with networks that require you to login through a web page.
  • My Wi-Fi details have changed. How can I update them in my League Frame?
Hold the button on the back of your League Frame for 10 seconds and then release it. After a few minutes, the display will show the Quick Start Guide and you can setup Wi-Fi details again.
  • The Quick Start Guide has appeared on my League Frame – how do I get my league information back?
If you have not changed your Wi-Fi details, then you can power cycle your League Frame: remove power, reconnect power, and then wait a few minutes for your League Frame to refresh. If your Wi-Fi details have changed, then please follow the displayed instructions to setup your League Frame with your new details.
  • My League Frame has not updated when it should have done.
League information will refresh at the time interval you have selected in your device settings (using the ‘Setup’ button at the top of this page). Check that you have waited for your selected refresh time. Check that there is power to your League Frame (you will see a green LED at the rear) and that your Wi-Fi network is working. If you are sure that there is new information that should be displayed, and you have waited for your specified refresh interval, you can power cycle your League Frame: remove power, reconnect power, and then wait a few minutes for your League Frame to refresh.
  • When I press the button, the display does not change
It takes a couple of minutes for your League Frame to update after you have pressed the button. The button will only change the display if you have multiple leagues setup. Please check your account to ensure that you have multiple leagues enabled. If this does not resolve your issue, you can power cycle your League Frame: remove power, reconnect power, and then wait a few minutes for your League Frame to refresh.
  • I cannot resolve my issue, or it is not listed here
Please e-mail hello@leagueframe.com and we will be happy to help you.
